Sunday July 5th.An utter and outright thrashing given to us from Kingshill.Despite a setting a total of 170 batting first including a fine opening partnership between Chris Harvey our new opening bat, and Gavin Jones of over 100 we failed through our bowling attack this is not in anyway the fault of the guys that tried there very best but the fact we were short of three main line bowlers. If we are going to compete we in future must make sure of at least two of these being available.I find it so frustrating knowing the improvement is in this team to do well at last. Please be available it will bring winning ways to Wrotham C.C. on a Sunday again.

As an interested observer I have to say that I was impressed with the batting skills on display. If I was being hypercritical then I’d say we needed to press on harder after the great start and post an even larger total. All in all though, a solid and impressive innings.
While we looked to be lacking a strike bowler or two I feel the main problem seemed to be we didn’t rotate the bowlers enough and let the opposition get settled in and pick off too many runs.
Not having seen the Sunday side play for a while I saw a marked improvement and I think we have the makings of a quality side who should be able to beat all comers.
